Session 11 (100 xp)

PCs: Flynn, Tuarninn, Udo, Ulrich

MR 673 - Talienir

The party recovers the bones of Benno Nusbaum, and they put his ghost to rest when they bury them in Morr's Field. This act of kindness attracts the attention of the Lowhaven criminal clan, who is not too happy of the PCs' involvement. The party receives Gart's thanks, though they leave the Hog Pit between some tensions, as Udo accuses sweet Henrietta to be a mutant.

The day after, the party achieves two main goals. They manage to get the blessing of the Temple of Sigmar, which should protect them against Chaos, and they get a local lawyer, Osanna, to draft for them a contract to guarantee that Ilse will make good on her promise.

And so the day of the execution arrives. A strange fog covers Ubersreik, and the PCs immediately realise something is very wrong. When they meet Ilse and Holger, the streets are deserted, and completely silent. Their own footsteps make no sound as they walk on the cobblestones. As they approach the river to take the boat that will bring them to the other side of the docks, they see the waters of the Teufel have become black like tar, and strange creatures swim in the depths. The presence of Chaos is clear.

The PCs decide to not risk the river, and go for the bridge. On the bridge, they're attacked by a group of mutants; they call Holger "brother", and tell him they've come to save him. The giant man has no friendship for the mutants, and asks his jailers to give him a weapon, so that he may fight. Ilse is clearly against it, but more and more the PCs are convinced of Holger's innocence. They free the man, and together they kill the mutants.

Ilse is infuriated, but the PCs knock her out. After some discussion, they decide to let Holger go free. The man thanks them for their kindness, and disappears in the unnatural fog. When he's gone, the fog dissipates, and the river goes back to normal. The PCs ponder their options, and they decide that Ilse has become a liability. Tuarninn cuts her throat while she's still unconscious.
